Stella Mokaya: My Experience as an Intern

SRA is a community initiative by the residents of Syokimau. My experience has been amazing for the past one month. I have gone to places I never imagined I would go. I have met people on appointments and am enjoying the everyday learning particularly from my immediate supervisor Ann Kinya.

Perfecting my communicative skills and wiping my shyness has steadily groomed me to a one confident young lady eager to understand emerging issues within the community. Am keen to learn how government responds to people’s needs. Am eager to learn more on how people file their petitions to the authorities at county level and beyond.

Steadily, I can count that am better that the first day I walked into SRA office. Reading how logical parents raise issues on Telegram and on WhatsApp platforms has continued to equip me to become a more responsible citizen eager to better the community I stay in. SRA deals with the issues affecting Syokimau residents. It is a place with persons filled with positive energy, dedication to duty as well as community service. It is humbling to be part of the residents who are shaping the destiny of Syokimau. I thank the SRA management for this opportunity. It could have come at any other better time.
