This is to bring to your attention that yesterday  28th Sept 2019  we had Four (4) Cabinet ministers from Machakos County visiting Syokimau. ( Environment, Roads, Enforcement and Lands)

This was a follow up of the meeting between SRA and H. E the Governor Dr Alfred Mutua held on 16/9/19.

I must say the County Government has shown willingness to work with SRA in sorting out most of the issues that we have continued to raise.

We saw commitment, as we started the tour from Airport Road at 9, am and finished in Quarry Road at 3pm.

♦️We were able to visit all the environmental hot spots. Air pollution and raw effluent being discharged. As well as the pollution on Sabaki River and the dam.

♦️Illegal approvals in various sites, containers kiosks, pubs, wines and spirits.

♦️ Roads that require urgent grading and the link roads that need opening. We also looked at drainage issues.

♦️Hawkers and the upcoming vibandas peddling drugs and illicit brews

♦️We also visited the farmers using the polluted water to irrigate.

The ministers were able to appreciate our concerns and understand why we have continued to feel neglected.

For us this is a New start and a Bright  future for Syokimau.

Going forward it was agreed we shall continue to work together with the County government in Correcting most of the wrongs while taking care to avoid any new mistakes.

We are so grateful for this New Partnership and we have great confidence that we will achieve more together.

My appeal to all our residents is we remain vigilant and bring to SRA’s attention any issues of concern affecting the estate.

I know this is a new beginning and not everything will be solved overnight. But we now have the County’s support and I am Confident things are not going to be business as usual.

There is a commitment to make syokimau estate a first-class estate where residents enjoy high-quality standards of Life.

Special thanks to the following who joined the entourage:
Eric Muraguri
Alex Waiharo
Mohamed Ismail
John Mutinda
Col. Peter Karung’o
John Thiongo and
Mike Wachira.

We urge all residents as Stakeholders, to join and support Syokimau Residents Association.

Long Live Syokimau Residents Association.

Achieving More, Together!
