Chairman’s Report

Promising Residents a high quality of life

There are many reasons for setting up a Residents’ Association but perhaps the best of them all is that it provides you with the opportunity to influence decisions about the management and maintenance of your neighbourhood.
In 2010, a group of neigbours living in Syokimau pursuing a similar goal, of ensuring access to basic services set up what is today a brand name is Syokimau estate, the Syokimau Residents Association (SRA). This has since become the channel for lobbying, advocacy and making demands from both the National and County governments to deliver services corresponding to the revenue that residents pay.
Overtime SRA has endeavored to improve the quality of life and the general well-being experienced by residents of Syokimau. To this end SRA is doing her best to lobby the relevant authorities to bring to the estates good roads, fresh water, security, a pleasant community environment; opportunities for recreation and leisure; and a sense of safety and social belonging to all the residents of Syokimau.
It is true that a high quality of life increases residents’ satisfaction and promotes community cooperation and compliance with rules and regulations.
Guided by her vision to be the preferred model estate in Kenya, SRA has managed to bring her resident’s together with Motto: “Achieving more, together!” Every effort is geared towards the SRA mission to make Syokimau estate a first class estate where residents enjoy high quality standards of life through advocacy for provision of community facilities and services.
It goes without saying that one of the strongest assets of Syokimau Estate is the cohesiveness and sense of community pride evident among its residents.
I therefore call upon all residents, home owners in Syokimau to join SRA and help us build a first class estate in Kenya.
